Provocateur at the Gansevoort joins the nightlife in New York City

by ilivenightlife on December 9, 2009

With New Years Eve upon us, what could be better than a new venue to finally replace our beloved Ono at the foot of the Gansevoort hotel?

The venue that brought us many a summer time mojito; and that oh so wonderful “$7 sushi” menu during happy hour a year or so ago, has been gone for some timeĀ  but not forgotten. Frequented by locals, fashionistas, and Europe, it is now being replaced by Provocateur.

Behind the new place are two individuals well know in New York City nightlife – Michael Satsky and Brian Gefter – better known as the team behind the old Stereo club on 29th street. Given the individuals behind the venue, expect the place to be full of models and the bankers that come with them….or is it the other way around?

The venue was expected to be open by the end of November December, but details of a New Year’s Eve bash are unknown. Since it was a very outdoor friendly location…it may sadly be closed until the weather improves.

According to Urban Daddy a soft open is occurring at the moment. No worries…there’s always The Standard hotel in the meantime to keep us in the meatpacking district for now.
